When you need a new toilet, it’s often difficult to know where to turn to for good advice. That’s what this review is for. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for a new toilet for your home or for a loved one’s. We test and look at hundreds of toilets to give honest reviews and advice. That way we can help you decide if this Swiss Madison One-Piece toilet is the right one for your needs.

Product Overview

There’s no doubt that the Swiss Madison line of toilets are very striking. The reservoir tank and bowl are made of one solid piece, rather than a separate bowl and tank assembly that you may be used to. This design does make it challenging to install, but taking your time means that your new toilet will last a very long time.

Swiss Madison St. Tropez Toilet

  • Shape: Elongated
  • .8/1.28 flush
  • 1 Year Limited Manufacturer
  • Why we like it: This comfort toilet is designed to be easier to clean thanks to the skirted trapway in its design and the bowl is elongated for added comfort.

This is a great family toilet because the seat is set at a standard height of about 16-inches. That does mean that this toilet is not ADA compliant, but your little ones won’t have to worry about climbing a mountain to do their business. (If you need a bowl with a higher rim for whatever reason, we have a series of reviews here on the best comfort height toilet list).

This model is also a dual flush system, which means that you can use either 0.8 gallons for pure liquid waste, or for the more heavy duty jobs, you can use the full flush, which uses 1.28 gallons. The bowl on the toilet is elongated, which makes for a more comfortable sit, and the lid has a soft closing mechanism to prevent the clatter of a dropped lid.

How Easy are Dual Flush Toilets to Clean?

A lot of people look at modern toilets and wonder how easy they are to clean. Many have bad memories of brown stained porcelain with a rear exit that was hard to clean and keep that way. Thankfully, modern toilets have evolved to be more efficient and to be easier to clean.

One of the first things that is different about a modern dual flush toilet is the location of the drain. No longer is it all the way in the back. Now the exit is near the center of the bowl where everything can just drop away when you flush. To conceal the actual drain, most toilet have a skirt that sort of hides the business underneath.

With the drain in the middle, that means that nothing gets caught going around corners and has a chance to sit there and stain the bowl. As long as you flush every time, there’s no stale water sitting around. As far as easier to clean, no more jamming a toilet brush or trying to reach a scrub brush into that back hole. Everything you need to clean is right there.

What’s the Best Cleaner to Use?

There’s no need to spend a lot of money on harsh chemical cleaners that are terrible for the environment. For cleaning porcelain bowls so they are sparkling clean, all you need are the following things:

● a soft sponge
● your scrub brush
● a pair of rubber gloves
● regular white vinegar
● Borax, which you can find in your laundry detergent aisle.

Add three-quarters of a cup of borax to one cup of white vinegar. Dump it all in the bowl and scrub with your scrub brush. Let it rest overnight, and in the morning flush it away, using the sponge to spot clean the outside of the bowl.

If you want to make your clean toilet smell better, just add a few drops of an essential oil in when you’re cleaning. This can be lavender, lemon, or even something fragrant like tea tree oil. The choice is completely up to you.

● Single piece construction means there are no joints or seams for leakage, resulting in a toilet that requires less maintenance
● Dual flush system lets you pick how much flushing power you need
● Lower seat means that it is suitable for kids and adults
● The bowl is elongated for more comfortable sitting
● The trapway has a built in skirt for aesthetics while remaining easy to clean

● Non-ADA compliant seat height means that it isn’t suitable for mobility challenged users.
● The mounting and installation can be a bit tricky the first time

When you need a new toilet, you don’t want to skimp. After all, this is someplace you’re going to be spending about 3 hours a week with. The futuristic and sleek one-piece design and construction ensure that this Swiss Madison St. Tropez toilet is a great choice for you and your family. Hello. My name is Charles. I have been in the home improvement industry for a number of years. One of the most important renovations that home owners can make is a bathroom upgrade. Not only does it add significant value to your home, but it also costs a fair amount to do. Bathroom renovations are not frequently undertaken so choosing your sanitaryware can be source of enjoyment or regret for years to come. This is definitely the case for toilets.
